Being on vacation and going through the hottest period of the year, my daughter wanted something chilled everyday last month. So I stocked a large box of strawberry icecream. And also I always stock my refrigerator with boiled milk so that I could whip her something in a jiffy. I also have a habit of buying milk essences like rose milk, badam milk and strawberry milk. When added with milk and sugar and chilled these taste so good. When I decided to take up the drinks for Kid’s Delight, I had all the ingredients ready. It was party for Sruti everyday as I made nearly six types of drinks for last month and this month. If you don’t have the milk essence, then use clear essence and a few drops of food colour.
Milk shakes can be quite simple or really exotic with various toppings and garnishes. I am not a great fan of making elaborate drinks as I love to make really simple yet delicious drinks for Sruti. I made a batch of strawberry milk with the essence and the ice cream tub came very useful while whipping up this milkshake. If you have chilled milk, then it becomes a really easy task to make this. Put everything in a blender and blend until frothy. You are ready. I used my hand blender to make this milk shake. Sruti’s friends come to home daily for some playtime and I served them with this. They loved this milk shake a lot.
Milk – 1 cup
Strawberry Milk Essence – a few drops
Sugar as needed
Strawberry Ice Cream – two scoops
Boil and chill milk.
In a blender, add milk, sugar, essence and blend until combined.
Add a scoop of icecream and blend until frothy.
Pour it into a serving glass, top it with a scoop of ice cream and serve immediately.
