Lassi is a drink made with yogurt and is a famous street food. When we resided in Pondicherry, we used to go to beach and on the way dad would buy us some delicious Bengali sweets or paani puri from the chaatwaala or Lassi. It would taste so delicious and even now I remember it. Mom would make it at home whenever we had excess curd. It is quite easy to make and is so refreshing during hot days. I have made two types of Lassi previously for two thali challenges. One is the Cardamom Lassi and the other is the Kesar Malai Lassi.
After some detailed recipes posted earlier in this week, today I prepared two simple variations of lassi. One is sweet and the other is spicy. The sweet version has curd and milk with sugar and is slightly thick compared to the spicy version with curd and water and herbs and spices. The sweet lassi can be served at the end of the meal and the spicy one can be served as a welcome drink. Whenever you choose to drink they are so tasty and I chose it today for the alphabet L for today’s Blogging Marathon #32 A-Z theme. I made to serve two of us and if you have more guests, then increase the quantity.

Procedure:
1. In a mixer jar, add all the ingredients except saffron.
2. Whip it until the sugar dissolves and is frothy.
3. Pour into serving glasses and serve immediately.
Spicy Lassi

Cumin Powder-1/4 tsp
Pepper Powder-a pinch
Asafoetida-a pinch
Coriander leaves-1 tbs

4. Pour into serving glasses and serve immediately.
I love painting, dress designing and of course cooking. This blog which started as an online cookery book has given me a great insight into baking and has transformed me into a home baker who is now thriving to learn a lot about cakes and decorating techniques.
