I have been going through Bloggers’ block. So what is a bloggers’ block? Any of you have any idea? I am trying to write a post from last week but am not finding any words for that. It has been more than a week since I posted on my blog and am not even getting the thought of writing a single post, though I have so many photos in my drafts floder. Yesterday, I got a mail from one of my regular readers asking about the silence in my blog. So I just thought of overcoming the block today. Usually writing an introduction to a post comes easily to me. But today I am taking more than 30 minutes to even start. Do you understand this? And the pageviews to my blog is declining since there is no new post. To come back to blogging I selected this easy recipe which is also absolutely delicious. There is no baking involved and it is so easy to put together. So let us move on to the details of the dish.
So what will it be to combine peanut butter and nutella? Read ahead to know. Three weeks back, I wanted to try my hands at rice crispy treats. And as you all know that I live in Madurai, I don’t get rice crispies here. I found a small pack of crispy rice balls in Nilgiris but they are charging it as if it is gold crispies. So I just substituted the rice cereal with puffed rice. Then came the next hurdle. Rice crispy treats need something to bind them together and usually marshmallows are used. As marshmallows doesn’t fall under eggless vegetarian category, I searched for an alternative. I saw so many recipes using peanut butter. But when I searched for peanut butter in my fridge, I got only quarte cup. But I needed 1/4 cup more. That is when I got the idea of combining nutella to it. Unlike the marshmallow based rice crispy treats, these squares need to be refrigerated to retain the crisp. If stored at room temperature, they become gooey, though they taste amazing. And to top it I gave a chocolate topping and you know what, my daughter loved it. Even I couldn’t stop at just one square. The only person who didn’t like it is hubby as he doesn’t like chocolate. So if you have honey, peanut butter, nutella, and puffed rice, then try this super easy snack for your kid. Make sure to press the mixture really hard. Otherwise you will have some problems while slicing.
Ingredients:
Puffed Rice / Pori – 4 cups / 100 gm
Honey-1/2 cup
Creamy Peanut Butter- 1/4 cup
Nutella-1/4 cup
Chocolate-100 gm, melted
In a sauce pan melt honey.
Remove from stove and mix in the nutella and peanut butter.
Keep on mixing until they melt together with honey.
If the process is slow, then reheat it until the mixture is totally incorporated.
Add it to the puffed rice and mix well.
Line a tray with parchment paper and transfer the puffed rice mixture to it.
Press it nicely so that the puffed rice gets stuck to each other.
Use a heavy ladle to press it.
Refrigerate until firm.
Melt chocolate in double boiler and pour it on top of the puffed rice mix.
Spread it with a spatula.
Refrigerate again until firm.
Remove from the tray, slice it into squares and store in an airtight jar in the fridge.
Enjoy!!

Gayathri don’t worry am sure everyone goes through that at some point during the blogging journey. I too sometimes go through a writer’s block, or blogger’s block as you call it. I have loads of recipes tried and pictures ready but sometimes just cannot get myself to write. Introductions too become difficult. We all are allowed to take rest sometimes. If your followers love your blog they will come back to it.
