Vendhaya Keerai / Methi / Fenugreek Leaves

Methi / Fenugreek leaves known as vendhaya keerai in Tamil. This is a nutritious green and is best for feeding mothers. Drinking 1 cup of fenugreek leaves tea a day is said to relieve the pain caused by arthritis (Wikipedia). The seeds are used as spice and the leaves are used in many Indian recipes such as curries, gravies, pulaos and parathas. Preparing greens for cooking is the hardest part. While preparing methi leaves, remove the leaves with a little stalk and discard the other parts. This can be stored in zip lock bags and refrigerated up to a week. The leaves will remain fresh.
