This is another chocolate cake I decorated for the neighbour’s daughter’s birthday. The frosting is done with butter cream and the roses are made with candy clay. This was prepared before I started blogging. So I don’t have a step by step tutorial. I will be preparing a cake in 5 days for another neighbour. I will try to do a photo tutorial on the frosting techniques for that cake.

I love painting, dress designing and of course cooking. This blog which started as an online cookery book has given me a great insight into baking and has transformed me into a home baker who is now thriving to learn a lot about cakes and decorating techniques. This blog has thousands of tried and tasted vegetarian recipes around the world and eggless bakes.

  5. I haven’t bought any disposable plastic bags in Madurai. I always use piping bags or butter paper cones. Piping bags, cake tins and nozzles are available at Ananda. You have to go to the first floor and enquire. If you ask at the ground floor, they will not respond.

  6. is there any place in madurai where i could get all the baking ingrediants in one place…any also a place where i could find muffin moulds, ramekins, cake moulds, cling film, butter paper, measuring cups…. 🙁 i wana bake too 🙁

  7. Sindhu, I source from various shops. There is no one shop to get all the ingredients and moulds and tins. For tins and moulds, you need to try Anandha. For baking ingredients try Nilgiris or Nila Fruits…

    1. You can get small cup cake liners near Rajmahal in the essence shops. But the normal liner is not available here. I bought the piping bag, nozzle set and liners at currimboys in Chennai.

  8. Hi Gayathri.. Yummy reciepe.I have some questions:-I use ur chocolate cake recipe but can I use cake recipe for cupcake if yes then why my cupcake liners are coming out? Pls help.thanku

          1. You can use, but not directly. Add a few drops of water and mix well. Then add it to cream. Otherwise there will be speckles of colour in the cream..
