When I first decided on making Indian Sweets for the April Mega Marathon this year, I didn’t have a plan. But once I started making the sweets, a plan started emerging. My love for milk sweets comes from my Dad and making this BM a tribute to him would be apt. So I chose to do 26 milk sweets from all over India. Dad worked in Calcutta and Cuttack, and so this BM you will see many sweets from those two states. I hope I did justice and made my Dad happy.
If you check my sweets, most of them are authentic and some a twist to the authentic with sugar free options. This was one BM I enjoyed without any stress as I made all the sweets two months prior to the BM. So my only job was to post it in the blog and read my friends’ blogs for the BM which was an amazing experience. I eeven went on a trip to Munnar and visited my aunt but the posting went on without any hitch.
I usually feel that my food photos are not good, but this month, I got so many positive feedback from readers, both on insta and FB and I am really happy for that. And the interest you guys showed really gave me a great confidence boost. And exploring Odisha cuisine was such a great experience. I even got some messages from friends congratulating me on exploring the cuisine. They even gave me so many ideas, which I have saved for future BM.
I have compiled all the recipes here so that you will find it easier to go through the posts I did for the BM. You can also access all my sweet recipes from Recipe Index/ Sweets. Share with me what you feel about this compilation and I would love to hear some ideas for my future posts. Have a great day!
Here is the list of all sweets I did:

What a great tribute to your dad… Hat’s off Gayathri and it’s great that you completed all the recipes well ahead. I wish I can do that for coming BMs. Lets see.
Gayathri, kudos to you for choosing such an interesting theme and coming up with 26 different and delicious milk based sweets. Also being on diet and keeping yourself from tasting your creations needs a lot of will power. I’m sure you have made a lot of people happy by sharing your delicious treats. I loved each and every one of your desserts and bookmarked quite a few. Hopefully I will get to make them soon.
Gayathri, I am so much in love with this post of yours. Even though I am not much of a sweet lover, your posts made me literally want to grab it off the screen. Wonderful choice and such a touching tribute. I am sure your father would have been so happy with this series and would have loved it. I am glad Sruti enjoyed all of this. I have bookmarked many to do, hope I will make it soon.

Gayatri you did a lot of efforts and managed to post the sinful milk based treats. This compilation is a bliss for us and I am bookmarking all of them to try. Loved your thorough research and planning you did during this marathon.
Great to see. Thanks for sharing all these recipes, this is really helpful to people like me . Can we make this using vegan milk? How about starting something cruelty free?
