COOKING BASICS - FLAT BREADS

Layering Parathas 3

I saw this method of layering parathas in a TV Cookery show. The next day I tried it out and I got nice layers in the paratha. This is also very easy to do. The dough I have used is the chapathi dough(click to view recipe) which I have posted earlier.

Dust the dough ball with wheat flour and pat it to make it flat.

With the help of a rolling pin roll it out into a thin disc.

Apply oil or ghee and sprinkle rice flour or wheat flour.

Make a cut from the centre to the edge. Start rolling the disc from the cut edge.

After rolling you will get a layered cone.

Press the top of the cone into the centre of the base with your thumb.

Press to make it flat. Roll it out into disc of medium thickness.

Cook on a hot tawa until both sides are golden.

I love painting, dress designing and of course cooking. This blog which started as an online cookery book has given me a great insight into baking and has transformed me into a home baker who is now thriving to learn a lot about cakes and decorating techniques. This blog has thousands of tried and tasted vegetarian recipes around the world and eggless bakes.
