RICE VARIETIES - SOUTH INDIAN DELICACIES

Coconut rice

This is also a simple recipe of a variety rice. Easy to prepare and good to eat. 

The Recipe:
Ingredients:
Coconut grated-2cups
Raw rice-1cup
Hing-1/4tsp
Till oil-1tbs
Mustard and urad dhal-1tsp
Channa dhal-2tbs
Curry leaves-6
Salt-to taste
Red chilli-3
Procedure:
1. Cook rice and spread it on a plate.
2. Heat oil and add channa dhal. When it is golden add mustard, urad dhal, hing, red chillies and curry leaves.
3. If you want the rice to be coloured add turmeric powder. I prefer colorless.
4. Add grated coconut and saute till golden.
5. Add this to the cooked rice and mix well.

6. Serve with papad or vadagam.
