GRAVY

Potato Masala

 The Recipe:
 Ingredients:
Potato-250gm
Onion-2nos
Tomato-2nos
Red chilly powder-1tsp
Coriander powder-1/4tsp
Cumin powder-1/4tsp
Curry leaves-6nos
Salt-to taste
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
Fried gram powder-2tbs
Coriander leaves-for garnishing
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Procedure:
  1. Boil potatoes, peel skin and mash them.
  2. Heat oil and splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  3. Add onion and sauté till golden brown.
  4. Add tomatoes and fry well.
  5. Now add mashed potatoes, salt, turmeric powder, chilly powder, cumin powder and water.
  6. When this boils add little water to fried gram powder and add it to the gravy. This is added to give thickness to the gravy.
  7. When done garnish with coriander leaves and serve with pooris or chapathi.
