Baked Sesame Potato Wedges Recipe

This week I will be showing you three savoury baked recipes. It has been a long time since I baked anything. I used to be someone who baked every day and in these two years my life took a 180 degree turn and now I don’t bake at all. Occasionally I switch on my ove to roast almonds for snacking, and that is it. Those who know me are quite surprised to hear that I don’t bake any more. Even Sruti was asking me to bake a nice cake as she has been missing them a lot. I have promised her that I would bake a nice cake for her, but still I haven’t done it. When Sowmya announced the savoury bakes theme for this month’s Kid’s Delight, I was really delighted as I could bake something. But still I chose some simpler recipes than the butter loaded ones. But wait for next month. I have a delicious theme coming up and I promise I will give you a real virtual treat.

The first dish I made are these potato wedges. My daughter is a crazy fan of potatoes and if I ask her to choose a vegetable every day, she would choose potatoes for the whole week. That is why I decided to make the potato wedges for the first day. These are quite easy to make and I have used a tsp of ghee for the whole batch. But if you don’t mind using ghee, then go for more than a tsp for some richness. Pre-boiling the potatoes gives them a nice softness even after baking. I have also baked potatoes without boiling them, but I find them a little drier when compared to this version. These would make a delicious snack when serve with some ketchup at the side, but you can also serve it as a side dish with rice. However you serve it, it would be delicious. The sesame adds some nutty taste to the wedges.

  1. Potatoes are my favourite as well . I too can choose to eat them everyday , specially if I get such awesome wedges . They look awesome with those spices , using ghee must have made them more delicious .

  2. The potatoes look delicious, it’s good that it’s an easy recipe to make as well. Ghee would give a great flavor to these.I should remember that!
