For the third day of Besan recipes, here is an easy to make delicious snack for kids. As a kid I used to love bread. Amma used to make amazing sandwiches and cutlets and I even loved the simple butter bread combo a lot. And then when I learnt baking breads, I started making so many dishes with breads and Sruti got acquainted to it. Even she is a crazy bread lover, so I can make any snack with bread without any doubt whether kiddo would like it or not. As I have given a break to baking breads, I bought homw a pack of sandwich bread just to make these masala toasts. And they went into the fridge and stayed there for a very long time as I didn’t feel like making them!
My daughter would ask daily and I would promise her that it would get ready tomorrow and then the next day the same thing continued. This went on for nearly four or five days and then when I had a visit from PJ, one of the amazing blogger friends from the BM family, I knew I had to make the toasts. I prepared the batter, made a test batch of two slices and got ready to take photos and by that time she arrived with her kids. That is it, we started chatting and it went on and on and I completely forgot to take photos. Even she has had her lunch just then and she couldn’t have the toasts. After a while when she saw what I made, she asked me to serve it for the kiddos. And I got back a clean plate. What more can I say! I was really happy that the toast was good. I made it again next day for Sruti and I managed to click a few snaps before serving. She was so happy about the toasts and said that they taste wonderful. So when I make bread next time, I am definitely trying this again.

Even we love these toasts, they make a lovely filling snack..I coat the bread generously with besan batter, but this one looks kind of lighter version…and so you got a clean plate. Great feeling to meet our friends, Hope you guys had good fun.
I am glad you guys could meet, itโs always great to meet BM friends :-). Like vaishali said, these Besan sandwiches are a lighter version of the bajjis that my friends make. That makes it easier to munch without feeling heavily.
These are my go to snack when I have left over bread. These kid approved besan toast are looking very appetizing.
Besan toast is always quick and easy to make and taste yummy. Kids would love them. Came to know from PJ’s post that you are in Madurai. I would love to meet you when I come to Madurai next time ๐
Thank you Narmadha. Would love to meet you..
It looks like masala french toast. Besan is indeed a good replacer for egg. i never tried besan toast but am sure it tasted wonderful. Good to know PJ’s children also loved this toast along with Sruthi.
