RICE VARIETIES - SOUTH INDIAN DELICACIES

Lemon Rice

Lemon Rice is a simple recipe which can be packed for journeys. The ingredients are readily available in our kitchen and it takes minimum time to prepare. 

The Recipe:
Ingredients:
Rice-300gm
Lemon-2nos
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Urad dhal- 1tsp
Curry leaves-5 or 6
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Hing-1/4tsp
Salt-1/4tsp
Red chilly-2or3
Till oil- 1/4cup
Channa dhal-3tsp
Procedure:
1.Cook rice separately.
2. Heat oil and add channa dhal. When it becomes golden brown add mustard seeds, urad dhal, hing, turmeric powder, red chilly and curry leaves.
3. Extract juice from lemons and add salt.
4. Add juice to oil and when it comes to boil pour it on the already prepared rice.Remove chillies and mix well.
5. Transfer it to serving dish.
