Guava Chat Recipe

This week I will be blogging with some seasonal fruits. There was one time when we got seasonal fruits and veggies in that particular season only, but now you get them all year round. But still they flood the markets when in season, and they are so tasty. It is always better to eat fruits and veggies during season and this week I will showcase three such seasonal fruits available now. For the first day, it is the humble guava. I was not a great guava fan until two years. Ever since I started with my low carb diet, I was allowed to have one raw guava daily. Fruits and veggies don’t taste so good unless there is some sort of restriction. I guess it is the same for everything in our life. As I couldn’t eat fruits and as I was allowed guava, I started loving it. Even the raw guava would have some sweetness and it was great for those sweet cravings.

Sometimes, the guava would ripe fast and I would eat it with guilt. Now I am not as strict as the beginning and I do eat fruits once in a while, but my love for guava continues. Whenever I visit the library, there is one vendor who sells delicious guava near the library. I look forward to going to library just to buy guava. You can just eat guava as it is or add some salt and red chilly to enhance the taste. Once I tried it with chat masala and I so loved it. My cravings for chat was so high at one period and I would add chat masala to anything and everything and eat it as a chat. That is what happened with this salad too. You add onions, lemon and chat masala to any fruit and veggies to make it taste like chat. Also add some roasted almonds for the crunch and it would just take it to a new level.
