Sweet Chutney

This is an important chutney while preparing chat. The taste of this chutney is a mixture of sweet, hot, sour and salty. This is very easy to prepare. I wrote down this recipe years back after watching a tv cookery show by the famous cook Chellam. This recipe never fails.

Ingredients:
Seedless Dates-50gm
Raisins-50gm
Jaggery-50gm
Salt-1/4tsp
Red chilly powder-1/2tsp
Garam masala powder-1/2tsp
Tamarind- lemon sized ball
Cumin seeds-1/2tsp

Procedure:
1. Mix dates, raisins and cumin seeds in 1 cup water and bring to a boil.
2. Keep flame low and let it cook. Meanwhile add the tamarind extract to the dates mixture.
3. Add red chilly powder, salt, garam masala and grated jaggery and allow it to cook till the raw smeel is gone.
4. Let it cool. Grind it to a fine paste.
5. Sweet chutney is ready.

I love painting, dress designing and of course cooking. This blog which started as an online cookery book has given me a great insight into baking and has transformed me into a home baker who is now thriving to learn a lot about cakes and decorating techniques. This blog has thousands of tried and tasted vegetarian recipes around the world and eggless bakes.
