Are you ready for the final post on our meet. I will be covering both fourth day and the fifth day today. The fourth day was a much awaited day as we were doing a workshop on bread baking and cake decorating. And our colour code was white. So before getting ready for the workshop, we got a photo clicked with the costume.
Vaishali designed red aprons and chef caps for the workshop and we just loved them. It looks so professional, right? And there was a photographer arranged for the day as we were supposed to be busy with the workshop. It was such a huge task and every one in the group had to do so much work so that by the end of the day, we were all so tired but then the event was a huge success.
12 students attended the workshop and there was a 12 year old among them. I was so happy seeing their enthusiasm. It was such a fun time with all of them. It was partly hands on and every one tried kneading the dough, feeling the dough, shaping the breads, decorating the cakes. And they also took notes on everything even though we provided them with recipe booklet.
Some serious discussion going on..
While demonstrating the bread
They tried the shaping
Once the bread was baked, it vanished in seconds and they were all so happy with the taste.
We also made chocolate filled caterpillar rolls.
Demonstrating cake frosting..
The butter cream cake
The fresh cream cake
The goodie box for the students filled with various cookies made by the members of our group
And the fondant cake made by Veena. All the students pitched in for decorating it.
A final photo with the cake before slicing it. The cake was sliced, packed and shared between us.
Once the workshop was done, we had just 20 minutes before leaving for Vaishali’s mom’s place.
We met Vaishali’s mom, and brother’s family. Her sister in law and her daughter in law came to the workshop too. They arranged for a wonderful dinner which started with grilled veggies.
And finished with a sinful moong dal halwa and a special paan.
Then we returned to the villa and guess what, we kept chatting until 3 AM. Then we went to sleep, woke up early, packed everything and got ready to leave. But before leaving there was one more photo session with everyone adorning caps.
We kept taking so many snaps and felt so tough leaving Delhi. Even when typing this post I feel so heavy hearted. I so miss all my friends.
It was time to say goodbye to every one and myself, Sruti, Veena and Valli returned to Chennai by 8: 30 PM. Hubby dear was waiting at the airport and we started our journey towards Madurai.
I was dead tired by then and for the next three days, had to compensate all those missed sleep in Delhi. And these are the goodies I brought home from Delhi.
Preeti gave me this sweet tamarind. It is so delicious, I am tasting it little by little.
And Goa special Guava cheese gifted by Archana
And one cookie box for me
And now I feel like I came down from a dream world. The next meet is after two years and I am eagerly waiting for that. I hope you enjoyed this virtual trip as much I did.
