Bread Mozzarella Mini Bites – Kid Friendly Recipes

This week in Blogging Marathon, I have chosen mini bites as the theme. Any snack when consumed in lesser quantity is better. And to make sure that you consume lesser amount, it is better to make them smaller in size. By this way you will be making less and also consuming less. And they are also super cute. When I was thinking of small bites to be featured here, I had a pack of sandwich bread and there were seven slices of them. I made three types of snacks using up all the slices and we had a filling dinner that day with some leftovers which we relished the next day. Yes, what I made for snack filled us for the whole night. These also makes a great snack for sudden guests, if yo have bread at home.

Bread and cheese are match made in heaven. These mini mozzarella bites are made just with two ingredients, bread and mozzarella. As I was making for kiddo, I wanted to have it simple and plain as possible. You can even add some chillies or hot sauce while shaping the balls. Usually for this type of recipes, the crust is removed so that they look neat and perfect. But I find it tough to use up the crust and sometimes it goes waste. So I never remove the crusts. And for your information, the bread bites with crusts taste so yum. Those already brown crust gives a nice crunchy finish to the bites. But if you don’t want, just remove it before dipping the bread slice in water.

I also had a small piece of home made mozzarella at home and it helped me in this recipe. As these are mini bites, I made four bites with one large slice. And with two slices, I ended up with eight bites, which were all gone in one sitting. The melting cheese inside the bread comes out stringy when you have a bite and this was the fun part of eating these bites. Dipped in hot and sweet ketchup, these were heavenly. Do try and enjoy!

  1. Hi!
These dishes look delicious … I am sure they must be just as tasty as they look.
I had earlier posted a query but didn’t get a reply. I saw your recipe of butter cream icing and was wanted to know which make of butter do you use in the recipe. Because I had tried it with nutralite butter and my icing got a separated feel. Pls advice .

    1. Thank you. I think I replied your query. Nutralite is not butter. It is margarine and so it wouldn’t work in butter cream. Try using dairy unsalted butter for good results. I usually go for the butter which we get locally in stores. Nilgiris, Hatsun, Kannan or Aavin are the brands I use.
