GRAVY - SIDE DISHES

Capsicum Masala

This is a simple side dish for rotis and chapathis. Very easy to prepare and it is very tasty.



Ingredients:


Capsicum-2
Onion-2
Tomato-3
Ginger- a small piece
Garlic- 5pods
Red chilly powder- 1tsp
Coriander powder-1/2tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Salt- to taste


Procedure:


1. Heat 2tbs oil and saute finely chopped capsicum for 2 minutes. Keep it aside.
2. In the same pan heat 1tbs oil and add cumin. When splutters add onion and saute till golden brown.
3. Grind tomato, ginger and garlic to a fine paste.
4. Add this paste to the onion along with red chilly powder, turmeric, coriander powder and salt. Cook till the raw smell is gone. 
5. Add the capsicum and a little water to get the gravy consistency. When it boils add coriander leaves and switch off flame.
6. Serve hot with rotis.
