Whole wheat Crumpets Recipe

Whole wheat crumpets are tiny pan fried bread which have crispy crust and a soft fluffy crumb, perfect to be served for breakfast.

- 150 gm Whole wheat flour
- ½ tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- ½ tsp Instant Yeast
- 300 ml Water
- Butter as needed
In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and instant yeast.
Add water to make thick batter.
Cover and set aside for 30 minutes, until light and bubbly.
Grease a skillet with butter, place the crumpet rings and pour two tbs of batter in each ring.
Allow the crumpets to cook on low flame until the top is cooked.
Remove from pan and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack.
Toast the crumpets before serving with jam/ peanut butter / nutella.
