Pasteli - Greek Sesame Honey Candy Recipe

Easy to make chewy sesame candy flavoured with honey.

Ingredients
  

  • White Sesame Seeds - 1 cup
  • Light Brown Sugar - 3/4 cup
  • Honey - 2 tbs

Instructions
 

  • In a pan toast sesame seeds until they start popping up. 
  • Transfer to a plate and allow it to cool.
  • Oil two parchment papers. Place one on an inverted baking tray and keep it ready.
  • In the same pan, add honey, sugar and 2 tbs of water.
  • Allow the syrup to boil and reach one string consistency.
  • Add the sesame seeds and mix everything together.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared parchment paper, place another one on top and roll it with a roller to uniform thickness.
  • Allow it to cool completely.
  • Slice it up into squares, flip and dry the pieces for a while and store in airtight jar.
