Preheat oven to 175°C.
In a bowl cream together butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and milk until light, pale and fluffy.
Add in the flour and salt and make a soft and non sticky dough.
Divide it into 4 equal portions.
Divide each portion into two and roll them into logs.
Chop almonds and mix with sugar.
Roll the prepared logs in the almonds and then slice each log into 4 equal portions.
Arrange them on a greased tray 1" apart.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Transfer the logs to wire rack and allow them to cool completely.
Store in air tight jar.
