Brazilian Feijoada

  • Beans - 1 cup
  • Oil-1 tbs
  • Onion-2
  • Tomato-1
  • Tomato Puree-1 cup
  • Coriander Powder-1 tsp
  • Red Chilly Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Fennel Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Salt-to taste
  • Coriander Leaves for garnish

Procedure

  • Soak the beans overnight and pressure cook until done.
  • Heat oil and add onions.
  • Sauté until translucent.
  • Add tomato, cooked beans and tomato purée and mix well.
  • Add in the spice powders and salt.
  • Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice and banana frita.
