How to make beautiful cakesicles with left over cakes? Find it!
When I started blogging, cake pops were a craze. Then I made them and found out that they are really so tasty and they look beautiful too. Then came cakesicles. You can see so many amazing cakesicles shared by bakers in social media. I was also tempted to give it a try. So purchased the cakesicle mould from Amazon (click on link to view the mould I used) and tried it with some left over cake slices. I must admit, they look really good and taste wise they are same as cake pops. The cakesicles recipe is very easy. Just combine your favourite ingredients to cake and you are done.
To make the cake filling more interesting, you can try various additives and frostings. The one I made today has whole wheat cake slices, walnuts, tutti frutti and French biscuit spread from Apura, Fab Flavours. This definitely made the filling very delicious. Forget about the chocolate coat, you can take the filling in a bowl, watch your favourite show and gobble on it. It is that tasty. I ate a little as taste test and I was so tempted to go for another spoon. But fortunately I held that thought.
A beautiful centre piece for party:
As usual, I made a video for the cakesicle. It is not very pretty like the ones you see on social media, but is a very basic one. I just wanted to share the process and you can go creative with the decorations. Change the filling as per yours or your family’s or your client’s taste, add the decorations apt for the celebration and you have an amazing centre piece for your party. I have used Morde white compound as it is easier to manage. If using coverture, you need to temper it first and then use it. Otherwise it won’t set.
Another word of caution, melting white chocolate is quite tricky. If you use too much heat, you are going to split the chocolate. So use hot water bath to melt. Not even double boiler. If using MW, use 10 seconds on medium low. Use the latent heat to melt the chocolate after you remove it from oven or hot water bath. To melt it easily, grate the chocolate. Don’t chop it. Send me your beautiful cakesicle photos in messenger. I will also have a virtual treat.
Your recipes are really amazing.Could you please tell us what brand of products to use.like cocoa powder, chocolate, vanilla extract or essence, whipped cream, etc. And yes mainly what colours to use while mixing in whipped cream.Thankyou! God bless you.
Thank you so much. For chocolate, I usually use Morde compound for recipes like this and use Callebaut for baking. As for essence, I use Ossoro, whipped cream, I use Rich’s non dairy cream or Milky Mist dairy cream, cocoa – Dutch processed from bakery stores for cakes and pure cocoa from Amazon for using in desserts.
