After two days, by the third day, two of the bloggers left. Usha left the previous day itself and Kalyani left in the morning of 22nd. So we got up early and bid her good bye with a heavy heart. Then started our next session. For two days, I didn’t do anything except eating, watching sessions and having fun. But the third day brought me some responsibility. I was supposed to demonstrate the Eggless Pav rolls with tangzong method. So prepared the dough with every one taking step wise pictures and asking all sorts of questions. Oh! I so love to demonstrate. I need to thank Valli and team for all the patience they showed for me during the demo. We made two batches and by the time I kneaded the first batch, I was sweating a lot. So Valli took on the second batch’s kneading. Once done, three of us set to the Food studio to do some preparations for all the activities going to happen on the day.
Kamalika had arranged our final day activities at Foodology – a lovely food studio in Adyar. Again when I entered the studio I was awestruck. This was just like my dream kitchen. With huge work benches, three ovens, a microwave, two stoves and every thing you need was there. Take a look at the photos. I think they speak volumes than me.
I didn’t take my camera with me as I would be very busy on that day. Kamalika promised that there was a professional photographer in the studio and so we will not be missing any photos. Our session started with just four of us. Others joined in later.
Archana and myself shaped the rolls and then we started with the icing and Tonak for the pav. I will not be able to talk about others today as I was so immersed in my work. There was so much going on at the same time and I couldn’t even get a peek into them.
At the same time Pradnya did some beautiful pulled sugar works for the cake.
Then when others came Vaishali started with her Shahi Paneer.
And Delhi’s famous Gallli Wali Parantha for our lunch.
Pradnya demonstrated carving a topsy turvy cake while I made the top tier. She also made a purse to go on the cake.
Meanwhile Kamalika- the dessert queen of our group was working on two desserts. One was so inventive with custard, gulab jamun and peanut brittle.
By the time Pav roti was ready and every one was so happy with the texture.
And here are the sugar strands Pradnya made.
We were served lunch which was absolutely delicious. Hot parathas paired with creamy Shahi Paneer.
And Archana completed the Goan Tonak to go with the Pav Buns which was an absolute delicious combination.
Then came the first dessert – Strawberry Mousse by Kamalika.
And the second one with Gulab Jamuns.
And finally we had some piping demonstration where Vaishali and PJ tried using the different piping tips with buttercream. I made nearly 3 Kg of Buttercream and we finished all.
Our session came to an end with the group photo and sadly four of our friends were missing.
And then the cake cutting…
After this we packed all our stuff and returned back to Padma’s house after saying Good Byes to Kamalika. When we reached home, I packed all my stuff and there was a huge burden as I was about to leave. With heavy heart I said my good byes to Vaishali, Valli, Archana and Padma. Though there were no tears, I felt really sad to go home. But I had to go as my daughter was missing me. Nandhini dropped me off at the junction and I boarded the train.
My husband on seeing me, was glad and my daughter too was glad. I couldn’t stop talking about the meet for two days and husband was so surprised at the amount of luggage I brought home. Yes I went to the meet with three and returned back with five. The bond has so much strengthened and we have started thinking of the next meet already. Hope you enjoyed our meet virtually!!!!!
