New month and new themes in BM. For the first week of BM I have chosen Kid’s lunch box recipes. So what is a cranberry muffin which is usually served for breakfast doing in lunch box series? Let me clear your doubt. When Sruti started her sixth standard, her school timings changed. She is supposed to be there in the bus stop by 7 am. At first she had so much trouble adjusting with the timing. But now she has got used to it. As 7 am is too early for breakfast, I usually send her breakfast in lunch boxes. Yeah, I only send her breakfast. Her school canteen takes care of her lunch. So I decided this recipe would be apt for those who are like me, who send their kid’s breakfast in a lunch box.

For this week’s BM, I have selected a theme my daughter loves, Brownies. I have already posted some brownie recipes and still I am in search of a good recipe. Today I tried a recipe and I should say they came out super gooey. The taste was so good and my daughter gave me a thumbs up but I am not at all satisfied with the look of the brownies. I actually added more batter to the ramekins and they started oozing out of the rim. So the final result is not such a great beauty, but look at the portion in spoon, it is totally good.
For the second day of vegan sweets, I wanted to make a cake. How can I avoid a cake? Before five months, I was believing that wheat flour is so good for health. But after reading all those problems it creates, and advice from our group to stop feeding kids with wheat, I have stopped making anything with wheat or maida for Sruti. I am not a doctor or a nutritionist, so I couldn’t explain you in detail of what harms come by consuming wheat, but if you search the web, I am sure you will find many articles. I know so many of you will not agree, but it is a fact. I don’t mean to bore you with my diet details, but I feel that whatever I learn I need to pass it on to my readers. May be some of you can change your way of life.
I am so late in posting this week’s recipes, but it is better late than never. We usually don’t plan our holidays. Whenever we plan something, it never happens. So this week, we were little surprised when hubby asked us to pack for a trip. We nagged him about our destination, but he never gave it until we started our journey. It was Coutrallam this year. It is one of the places we have never visited and so both myself and Sruti were super excited. But sadly this was off season and when we reached Coutrallam, the place was deserted. There was no water in the falls. And the hotel where we stayed was also deserted. But still we went to visit the old Coutrallam, which was far from the main place where we were staying. There were hundreds of monkeys and only one vehicle apart from ours.
