So many of you were asking me about the meal plan I follow for my paleo diet. So I tried putting together some dishes so that it would be helpful for those who are new to paleo. These dishes are totally vegetable based and doesn’t even include eggs.
This cream cheese platter along with onions and cucumber makes a great snack option for your diet or you can serve it as a side dish for your lunch or dinner. However you serve it, it is so delicious and I am sure you will go for a second helping. I could just live off with this plate for weeks. I served it along with oven roasted veggies and pumpkin soup for my lunch.
This soup is so flavourful as the pumpkin pieces are roasted in oven before making the soup. It will make a super filling appetizer to any meal. Or just have it for your evening 3 PM hunger pang, or serve it up for dinner. I make it once in a while when I feel very hungry. This is part of the paleo meal plan #1 I have posted. I also served Oven Roasted Veggies and Cream cheese platter along with this.
I make this for lunch every alternate day so that I don’t get bored of the cauliflower rice. I even add the roasted veggies to cauliflower rice to make it more interesting. Today I will share with you the easiest way of making this. You just need to slice up the veggies, add the spices and ghee, give a nice mix and bake in oven till done. Doesn’t it sound easy? It is also so delicious and can be put together easily enough.
When I was searching for an authentic bread recipe from Sweden, I came across these beautiful cinnamon rolls. The shaping was so unique, I immediately bookmarked that recipe. The dough is really easy to put together and it is flavoured with cardamom. And the filling is made with butter, sugar and cinnamon. When baked, the aroma that filled the house was awesome. And the rolls were so soft and had a perfect texture.
The next Swedish bread I made last week is the saffron bun. I am sure many of you would be familiar with this saffron bun. Saffron is added while kneading the dough and it gives an amazing colour to the final buns. These buns are made for Swedish Christmas time St Lucia feast on December 13th. Made in the shape of S, they are also studded with raisins.
Black forest cake is one of the hot selling cakes in any bakery. And even the recipe in my blog and YouTube have got a good number of views. Whenever I post cake recipes, I get so many requests for cooker cakes. In India, before OTGs came into normal day to day use, pressure cookers were the ovens for most of the housewives, including my mom. My mom used to add some fine sand in the bottom of a cooker or a cast iron pan and baked cakes in it. The sand used to maintain even heat throughout the pan and so the cake baked will turn out so good. I started pressure cooker baking only after some viewers asked me for the recipe.
For the second of Blogging Marathon, I chose to do three Swedish dishes. As you know I love bread, and whenever I get a chance to bake bread, I do it. And when I saw the theme Swedish recipes, I chose to do three Swedish breads. Selecting the recipes was tough. There were so many beautiful breads in Swedish cuisine and I had a hard time selecting three from the list. The very first recipe is the crispbread which is most common in Sweden. They are crispy flat breads which can be served with any topping and the Swedish stock it regularly in their pantry. The bread used to be made with a hole in the centre so that they are stocked up on a wooden rod and left out for drying. But nowadays, they are sold as squares with various seed toppings.
I think you guys remember my post on Butter tea a while back. After starting with my diet, that was my breakfast most of the days. I actually omitted the tea and mixed only milk and butter. But when I left for Delhi, my hubby was left to make it for himself. And he tried to make it with tea leaves. When I returned back, he told me that adding tea leaves made the tea more delicious and he felt so full until mid afternoon. So I decide to make it again. But before attempting it again, I wanted to check out the perfect recipe for the tea.
